As I'm currently staying in Bangkok I decided to change my Homepage to display some of the photos I have taken in Bangkok so far (being there since the end of september). My old site is still accesible just click here. The current status of the new page is that all photos taken till the end of October are on the site. I will try to put up some more as time passes. All pages open in new windows or tabs. I greatly appreciate any comments you have to make so please contact me at pio-in-cottbus@web.de.
My first two days outside of Bangkok I spent in Hua Hin on the 24th and 25th which is around 3 hours away from Bangkok at the Gulf. We stayed at the really nice Fulay Guesthouse. The first day we (me and Christine a fellow student from Austria) arrived it was raining the whole day. So in the evenin we went out to the clubs which were pretty much deserted and we ended up in a Karaoke Bar. Me singing was rather a torture for the owners but they kept on smiling. Still it was a hell lot of fun. On the first day in Hua Hin I was so desperate to get into the ocean that I went in even though it was stil raining a bit. But I stepped on something and now I have a sick foot and have to take antibiotics or the infection to cease. But the second day was nice cause I rented a motorcycle and went to see a standing Buddha and a temple with some "footsteps" of Buddha. I made on large panaromic shot of he view from the mountain at this place which you can see here. The temple was really impressive with a nice and calm atmosphere. I was great and really a treat to get out of Bangkok and sees a tiny bit of Thailand (various pictures from Hua Hin that didn't fit in anywhere else).
The 22nd I spend on a river cruise with Tao seeing the giant temple and having lunch in the saffron and later dinner in a nice indian restaurant at Khao San road. The temple was really crowed so it was really difficult to get some decent photographs and it was just around noon so the sun was just too bright. But stil it was a great experience to be there and to enjoy the atmosphere and to observe the other people.
Some pictures of the university and some of its older buliding taken but also some pictures of colleagues like Nuch, Christine, Akira and Michael.
I spent a great afternoon with Tao from the FC. A lot of fun taking a boat on the lake and just joking a lot and giggling away. Additionally theres a few photos which I took on my first time to the park like the one with all the people doing aerobic at the late afternoon just before it was getting dark.
Like everything in Bangkok the parties are extreme as well.
I spend my first month in the Bosstower and this is a collection of the pictures I made there. An Additional panoramic shot is here.
Different photos that didn't want to fit in one of the above categories. Taken at Siam Station, the MBK mall, in Sukhumvit and in the Sam Yan market a plce I go to to have dinner quite often.
